Elephant Bathing
Getting hand-on with the
largest bathing beauty

The Diphlu River Lodge has plenty to offer beyond wildlife viewing, with itineraries which can be customized to suit individual needs and interests.

Get onboard and sail on the Mighty Brahmaputra to experience the unparalleled scenic beauty and the many avian species that thrive along its course. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach or be partaking in a game of Frisbee or beach cricket.

Apart from the daily Jungle Activities, an added attraction at Diphlu River Lodge is the possible encounters with the endangered but playful Gangetic Dolphins on our Dolphin Boat Safari.

Celebrate the simple joys of life with an exuberant dance performance followed by a bonfire and sumptuous barbecue dinner.

Get a glimpse into the homes and lives of the tribal peoples who inhabit this rich land. The Lodge organises engaging trips to the homesteads of three different tribes in the area; Bodo, Mising and Karbi.

Get hands-on with the only bathing beauties with one inch thick skin- the Indian elephant. Help wash down a domesticated elephant along with her handler in the refreshing waters of the Diphlu River.

Journey on foot to a local rubber production unit accompanied by one of our guides. Your walk will take you through lush rubber forests, scenic vistas and charming village cottages.

Assam Tea is famous the world over for its strength and aroma and the Lodge offers you the opportunity to visit a nearby tea garden. Watch tea being grown, plucked and processed in pristine natural surroundings.

Browse for that perfect gift or pick up a memento for yourself at the gift store. All the products are either locally made by an in-house production team of weavers and craftsmen or handpicked from neighbouring regions.
